Tyler Russell

The Boss

Horses have been part of my life from the very beginning. Growing up in Germany, my parents bought me an unbacked three-year-old German Bred Sports pony when I was just nine years old — and that’s where it all started. We learnt together, made plenty of mistakes, and built the kind of partnership that made me fall in love with the sport and most of all Lady.

When I was 11, we moved to England, and I threw myself into everything from Pony Club camps to cross-country trips. Those years were full of fun and adventure, but also the start of my journey with dressage working up the levels, eventually competing in Pony FEI classes.

After finishing school in 2016, I moved to train with the Eilberg family, after then working for Laura Tomlinson in 2020, gaining invaluable experience from some of the very best in the sport. Today, I’m proud to be training with Judy Harvey and riding at PSG level and qualifying for the nationals with my 5 year old two years running with horses I’ve produced myself.

Now based in Buckinghamshire, alongside competing, grooming and riding, I offer full livery with 5* care — because for me, it’s not just about the sport. It’s about happy, confident horses, and sharing that same care and passion with others.

lady

Fairlady

The one that started it all

Lady was my very first pony, the one who made me fall in love with horses forever. She wasn’t just a pony, she was my partner, teacher, and best friend rolled into one. With her I learnt the ups and downs of riding, the patience it takes to build a bond, and the pure joy of having a horse by your side.

She’s the reason I’m doing what I do today, and I’ll always be grateful to her for giving me the very best start. Lady will always hold the most special place in my heart — the true beginning of it all. Now at 20yrs old she’s living semi retirement with how she deserves!

bolly

Balito V

The King

Bolly is a 20-year-old Belgium Warmblood who started life as an eventer before finding his way to me. When I first got him seven years ago, we could barely ride a straight line — but with time, patience, and plenty of laughter along the way, we’ve grown together into a partnership I’m so proud of. Bolly and I are now competing at PSG, something I never would have imagined when we first started out.

He’s so much more than just a competition horse — Bolly is my best friend and the undisputed boss of the yard. He keeps everyone in check, has taught me resilience, and rewarded me with unforgettable moments. True to his character, he also has a huge love for food — especially watermelon and, when he can get one, the occasional jam doughnut!

Bolly is the heart of my team, the horse of a lifetime, and a constant reminder of why I love what I do.

pedro

Pedro IX

The rising superstar aka the giraffe!

Pedro is a 5-year-old Dutch Warmblood by Incognito, and I’ve had the joy of producing him since he was just three years old. Now just shy of 18hh, Pedro is a sensitive soul who thrives on patience and understanding — and I’ve loved taking the time to let him develop at his own pace. I know with time he’s going to be incredible.

We’ve already shared some exciting milestones together, including a wildcard for the Nationals last year and a direct qualification this year. Pedro may be sensitive, but once you’ve earned his trust and friendship, he’ll do anything for you. True to his nature, he’s very food-oriented, and bribing him with his favourite treats always helps!

Pedro is a special horse with a huge heart and a bright future ahead — and I feel lucky every day to be part of his journey.

little-owl

Thistledown Little Owl

The smallest but the sassiest

Little Owl is a Welsh Section A pony I got from the Blue Cross in April. When she first came to me, she was very shy and a little scruffy — but with patience, care, and a lot of love, she’s transformed into the smartest, sassiest pony you’ll ever meet.

Every day with Little Owl is full of personality and surprises. She’s curious, clever, and always keeps me on my toes. She’s also Bolly’s best friend, and watching their bond grow is one of the sweetest parts of life on the yard. I’m so excited to see where her journey takes her — she’s already stolen a very special place in my heart and who knows we may be in the showing ring together!

marley

Marley

The yard supervisor

Every team needs a mascot, and Marley takes the job seriously! Always by my side, whether it’s in the lorry, at shows, or just keeping morale high on the yard. The happiest dog you’ll ever meet!

mum

Mum

The Rock

Mum is the glue that keeps everything running smoothly. From early mornings and late nights to cheering from the sidelines at every competition, she’s always there with unwavering support, endless patience, and a helping hand wherever it’s needed.

Her love for the horses, the yard, and everything we do is evident in every little thing she does. She’s more than family — she’s an essential part of the team, a source of calm in the chaos, and someone I couldn’t do this without.

vet

Oxford Equine Vets - Dr Oliver Siddons BVetMed MRCVS

Our vet and lifesaver!

Oliver has been looking after my horses for just over a year now, and we couldn’t imagine the yard without him. Calm, patient, and full of care, he’s there for everything — from routine checks to the unexpected moments that test us all.

What makes him truly special is how he connects with every horse individually. They trust him, we trust him, and he’s become much more than our vet — he’s a valued part of the team and a friend to us all. He really is our hero!

james

James Mole’s dipwcf

The hoof hero

James is the one who keeps our horses moving comfortably and confidently. Whether it’s a routine trim or a tricky job, he approaches every hoof with care, skill, and patience. James goes above and beyond and I’ve never met a farrier who puts as much care and time as he does.

Beyond his expertise, James has a real way with horses — they trust him immediately, and that makes life on the yard so much smoother. He’s not just our farrier; he’s a trusted part of the team and someone we know we can always rely on. We are so grateful to have James as part of our team!
